The Tweed Shire Council has now launched a further stage in the e-planning services being introduced on the council website as council continues’ ongoing efforts to become a state-wide leader in efficient development assessment practices. The initial release of the new services took place in June with the launch of the DA Preparation Kit featured in the July edition of the Tweed Pulse which can be viewed on the TEDC website – www.tedc.com.au.

This latest launch now focuses on the introduction of electronic information sources on the web site, in the form of Customised Property Enquiry, DA Tracking and Mapping Functions, which are great tools for gaining an understanding of the main planning issues and processes affecting the development potential of your property.

Information can be sourced through 3 main sub-sections:

Planning – a guide of all existing and draft strategies and development assessment controls, such as State Environmental Planning Policies, Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans and Council policies. Associated information on Rezoning, Section 149 Certificates, and Developer Contributions is also available.

Development – a guide on all the steps involved with development applications (DAs), including whether a DA is required, and the preparation, lodgement and determination of DAs. Other associated subdivision and engineering processes are also explained.

Building – a guide on any further required approvals including Construction Certificates, and the preparation for, and proper site management of the construction of new building works. Other comprehensive features to the site are the help section – “Planning/Development/Building Contacts page providing telephone, email and direct counter enquiry contact details. This information will allow the user direct access to the relevant staff member for any assistance. A comprehensive training video is also available on the “DA Tracking Function” to allow the user to have a point of reference becoming familiar with the site. As stated by Director of Planning & Regulation, Mr. Vince Connell for the benefit of our web users, our staff have prepared a series of user friendly instructions on how to use the new electronic functions,” Mr. Connell.
